Getting Started

Welcome to Blockbite! This guide will help you get started with using the plugin to unlock advanced design capabilities within the WordPress block editor.

Finding the Blockbite Controls

Once you've installed and activated the Blockbite plugin, you can find its controls in the block settings sidebar.

  1. Select any block in the WordPress editor (like a Paragraph, Heading, or Image).
  2. Open the block settings sidebar on the right (Ctrl + Shift + , onWindows or ⌘ + Shift + , on Mac).
  3. You will see a new panel named Blockbite. Click on it to expand the controls.

Applying Your First Style

Let's try a simple example to see how it works. We'll change the width of a Paragraph block.

Select a Block

Click on any Paragraph block in the editor to select it.

Open the Dimensions Panel

In the Blockbite panel on the right, find and click on the Dimensions section to expand it.

Set a Width

You will see input fields for WIDTH, HEIGHT, MIN WIDTH, etc. Select a unit, for example, Percentage Units, and select a value in the WIDTH field, for example, 1/2.

See the Change

You should see the width of your Paragraph block update instantly in the editor.

Core Concept

Blockbite works by adding styling controls directly to the native WordPress blocks you already use, and on custom Blockbite blocks. It's designed to give you more creative freedom right within the Gutenberg editor.
