Build a collection you can keep using

A useful section should have a life beyond its first page. Create reusable islands with editable content, then combine them into pages shaped around each brief.

Find the shape the story needs

Think in sections your team can use again. A strong opening, a clear feature story and a useful answer can share a design language while serving different pages.

Share the design, give each use its own content

An island brings together the template, fields and sample content. Place it on another page and give that instance its own message. Editors work with the declared fields while the reusable section provides the design.

Compose a whole page from familiar parts

Use a Document Blueprint to arrange the sections and the content they carry. Review the whole page, including how one idea leads into the next.

  1. Choose sections

Match reusable islands to the message.

  2. Add content

Give each section its intended words and media.

  3. Preview

    Check the composition in Local.

  4. Review in WordPress

Apply the Document through its separate review flow.

Reuse across your project workflow

Compiled releases bring their islands into the Platform project library. Preview or download an island, then use the supported import process to bring a downloaded package into Local. Review compatibility before making it part of the site’s next release.

Island questions

Can the same island appear on several pages?

Yes. Each instance can use its own content with the shared design.

Can islands be interactive?

Supported React behavior can hydrate in the browser; static islands need no client JavaScript.

Will importing replace an existing island silently?

Duplicate template and variation identities are a conflict to resolve.

Start with one section worth reusing

Give it a clear purpose, editable content and a design that fits your project. Then use the same building block where the next page needs it.
